Deployment Verification
Verify APIs, WebSocket, admin console, and basic message delivery.
Deploy the server
Complete either Docker Compose deployment or Source deployment.
Open ports
Follow Ports and network to allow only the ports required for your domain and TLS configuration.
Verify PC Web
Open http://your_server_ip:11001 in a browser, where your_server_ip is the address of the server hosting the frontend.

If you do not have a test account, select the registration action on the login page, complete registration, and return to sign in. With the default configuration, verification code 666666 is available from verifyCode.superCode in chat/config/chat-rpc-chat.yml. If self-registration is disabled or the configuration was changed, use an actual test account and code.
Skip this step when only the server was deployed without a frontend.
Verify service processes
For Docker Compose:
docker ps | grep -E 'openim-server|openim-chat'Containers may initially report health: starting. Wait 20-30s and confirm they become healthy before testing APIs.
For source deployments:
# Run in open-im-server
mage check
# Run in chat
mage checkVerify domains and gateways
With a domain and TLS, call real endpoints to confirm the OpenIMServer and ChatServer routes:
curl -sS -X POST "https://your_domain/api/auth/get_admin_token" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "operationID: verify-openim" \
-d '{"secret":"your_openim_secret","userID":"imAdmin"}'curl -sS -X POST "https://your_domain/chat/application/latest_version" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "operationID: verify-chat" \
-d '{}'A JSON response containing a business error usually still proves that the reverse-proxy path is connected.
Test the WebSocket gateway with any WebSocket client:
wss://your_domain/msg_gatewayIn production, route traffic through port 443 and initialize OpenIMClientSDK with:
apiAddr: https://your_domain/api
wsAddr: wss://your_domain/msg_gatewayVerify a deployment without a domain
Use the server IP and default ports:
curl -sS -X POST "http://your_server_ip:10002/auth/get_admin_token" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "operationID: verify-openim-local" \
-d '{"secret":"your_openim_secret","userID":"imAdmin"}'curl -sS -X POST "http://your_server_ip:10008/application/latest_version" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "operationID: verify-chat-local" \
-d '{}'ChatServer POST endpoints also require the operationID header; omitting it returns a parameter error.
